We&rsquo;ll also be performing this concert set at the Lilypad as part of the&nbsp;<em>Zero Point One Percent</em>&nbsp;(improvised series curated by Pandelis Karayorgis and Eric Rosenthal)</div>  <div class="paragraph"><strong>February 22nd at ShapeShifter Lab (Brooklyn, NY)</strong><br />In preparation for April 7th (see below!), I'm performing <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrHKS5KaTgg" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Aperghis' <em>Recitations</em></font></a> at ShapeShifter Lab in NYC --- Facebook link <a href="https://www.facebook.com/events/372170296932928/" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">here</font></a>. I want to get this piece picked up in a few more cities as well, so anyone or any venues out there who want to host, give me a shout!</div>  <div class="paragraph"><strong>Sunday April 7th at Third Life Studio (Somerville, MA)</strong><br />This year I was awarded a grant from the <a href="http://www.puffinfoundation.org/" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Puffin Foundation</font></a> to present a performance that advocates for social change. On April 7th in Boston, MA,&nbsp;<a href="https://lailajfranklin.wixsite.com/dance?fbclid=IwAR1Bn4IkGiSmiTaSX2bmzA2fpGAU8gWBHam8IXQ7yR8XsnCRlgBTv9YufaQ" target="_blank" style=""><font color="#24678d">Laila Franklin</font></a>&nbsp;and I will present&nbsp;<em>Recitations in Movement</em>, a collaborative performance that seeks to express the many facets and sufferings of domestic abuse victims through the interaction between movement and voice. Proceeds for this performance will be donated to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.facebook.com/rosiesplace/?__tn__=K-R&amp;eid=ARBuKfwZo2gZEW0ebXl7H3eByE-4dx1S3Ia91dkxtPZn0xS3JhvZ1gSh24s8dOwVCS2Ie85oMtnrJpSt&amp;fref=mentions&amp;__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARDtTtLG2SFUdGyHGONmopC0jQT7_kJOJK2KWz8mFR9RbDqR8qBEGdYfTnvxQGJk-ueKLmetGJ-v5vpsZPmdMbnbRq_ukQC5cHOMuYsdNO3g8gMtpT6lMgqd6KMW0IbSAuyCmuOlUS1ohEZ5pC8S7KOIO5pwb2JQOd-vRq9a1i5NPLwOHGBFaV3QJr0-k_f2W_i75rx32C5P6jsv0A"><span style="color:rgb(54, 88, 153)">Rosie's Place</span></a>&nbsp;- a shelter for poor and homeless women. Check out more details on this project in the link <a href="http://www.stephanielamprea.com/recitations-in-movement.html" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">here</font></a>,&nbsp;and I hope you are able to check out our finished product!</div>  <div class="paragraph"><strong>Friday April 12th, Inner Space (Brookline, MA)</strong><br />Crossing a piece off of my bucket list, I'll be performing the entirety of Kate Soper's <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFLqzJkKSJM" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">IPSA DIXIT</font></a> with <a href="https://www.eqnewmusic.com/about/" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Equilibrium Ensemble</font></a> as part of the &#8203;&#8203;&#8203;<a href="https://www.originalgravitymusic.org" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Original</font> <font color="#24678d">Gravity</font> <font color="#24678d">Concert Series</font></a>! This concert is definitely something you don't want to miss - plus, it'll be paired with several beers from local breweries!</div>  <div class="paragraph"><strong>Friday April 26th at Gallery 263 (Cambridge, MA)</strong><br /><a href="http://peridotduo.weebly.com" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Peridot</font></a>&nbsp;will be performing another set of crazy vocal duos, including works by <a href="https://walkingmango.wordpress.com" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Carolyn Chen</font></a>, <a href="http://www.aaronjaymyers.com" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Aaron Jay Myers</font></a>, and Chaya Czernowin&rsquo;s&nbsp;<em>Manoalchadia</em>&nbsp;for two voices and bass flute (played by Sho Kato). We can&rsquo;t wait to share this with you all!</div>  <div class="paragraph"><strong><font color="#a82e2e" size="5">Commission!</font></strong><br /><a href="http://www.aaronjaymyers.com" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Aaron Jay Myers</font></a>&nbsp;wrote me a piece and IT IS MAGNIFICENT! It is a work for solo voice, Lichens 3, as a part of Aaron&rsquo;s Lichen series for mixed instrumentation. This set includes a sweet, ASMR-inspired (!) commission from <a href="https://www.danreifsteck.com" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Dan Reifsteck</font></a>&#8203;, a super talented percussionist and composer, and we&rsquo;re so glad he&rsquo;s writing for us! We&rsquo;ll also be singing Kaija Saariaho&rsquo;s amazing duo, <em>From The Grammar Of Dreams</em>.<br /><br /><strong>Thursday December 6th at Arts at the Armory (Boston)<br />Saturday December 8th at Spectrum (NYC)</strong><br /><a href="http://www.kyradavies.com" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Kyra Davies</font></a>, fabulous violinist for the <a href="http://www.semiosisquartet.com" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Semiosis Quartet</font></a>, and I will be playing duo sets in Boston and NYC - among works by <a href="http://www.ensemble21.com/eckardt/home.html" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Jason Eckardt</font></a>, <a href="https://soundcloud.com/ashkan-behzadi" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Ashkan Behzadi</font></a>, Missy Mazzoli, and Bright Sheng, we&rsquo;ll be tackling Kate Soper&rsquo;s epic duo, <em>Cipher</em> - if you haven&rsquo;t heard this piece, check it out <a href="https://vimeo.com/96043620" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">here</font></a>. This program is gonna be littttttttt!<br /><br /><strong>Friday December 14 in Providence, RI<br />Sunday December 16 in Providence, RI</strong><br />I&rsquo;ll be singing with <a href="http://www.verdantvibes.com/index.html" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Verdant Vibes</font></a>, Rhode Island&rsquo;s premiere new music ensemble -- works TBA soon!<br /><br /><br /><strong><span><font color="#8d7824" size="5">Upcoming commission!</font></span></strong><br />Amazing Boston-based composer <a href="http://www.aaronjaymyers.com" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Aaron Jay Myers</font></a> is writing a piece for me, and I&rsquo;m absolutely beside myself about it! Emily&rsquo;s compositions in general are breath-taking, so we&rsquo;re really excited to share this new piece with you guys. Rep includes&nbsp;</span><font color="#24678d">Nathan Davis</font><span>'&nbsp;</span><em>The Sandreckoner</em><span>, Kaija Saariaho's&nbsp;</span><em>Tag des Jahrs</em><span>, and Bernhard Lang's&nbsp;</span><em>Fremde Sprachen</em><span>. These pieces are MASSIVE - not to be missed!!</span><br /><br /><br /><strong><font color="#ae40a5" size="5">Baby&rsquo;s first grant!</font></strong><br /><span>I was recently awarded a grant from the&nbsp;</span><a href="http://www.puffinfoundation.org" target="_blank"><font color="#24678d">Puffin Foundation</font></a><strong>&nbsp;</strong><span>to put on performances of Aperghis&rsquo;&nbsp;</span><em>Recitations</em><span>&nbsp;in Spring 2019 with contemporary dancer/choreographer&nbsp;</span><font color="#24678d">Kyle Gerry</font><span>&nbsp;(who I worked with on a project years ago for a piece written by Drake Anderson! Small world!). Concert times/locations TBA, but we&rsquo;ll be performing in NYC, Philadelphia and maybe Boston.</span><br /><br /><strong><font color="#ae40a5" size="5">Life stuff</font></strong><br /><span>I MOVED TO BOSTON! BUT I&rsquo;M IN NEW YORK TOO! WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!</span><br /><br /><span>Yep, I finally made the leap to go completely freelance with music and living in Boston is something I&rsquo;ve been thinking about for a while. But fear not! I have two places of residence (my apartment in Boston, and my place in Queens, NYC &ndash; meaning my mom&rsquo;s place which has two extra beds for when my sister and I have work in town. Love you, Mom!), and my goal is to travel a whole lot more for music now that the whole day job thing is out the window. So NYC peeps (and others) &ndash; I&rsquo;m available to come sing for ya&rsquo;ll! So far I&rsquo;m really embracing this musical nomad life &ndash; and having a car really helps.&nbsp;</span><br /><br /><span>That&rsquo;s all for now &ndash; as I plan things out for the Fall/Winter, I&rsquo;ll try to send another blurb out to keep everyone in the loop.
