Stephanie and Alistair present music about the loss of words and breath at the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. This programme features music by Nuria Gimenez Comas, Mario Mora, Kaija Saariaho, Rebecca Saunders, and a co-composed work by Stephanie and Alistair: "Soroche", setting text by Jessica Gaitan Johannesson. Edinburgh Futures Institute
Stephanie and Alistair co-compose and perform Soroche, a multidisciplinary piece combining text, music and imagery. They are joined by writer Jessica Gaitan Johannesson as they, through words and sound, ask how colonial history comes to bear on a crisis that is taking away our ability to breathe. This work is hosted and commissioned by the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh. More info here.
10 MARCH 2022: Stereo Glasgow
Stephanie and Alistair perform POSTCARDS, a fully improvised set vocals and live electronics. The set was inspired by field recordings made by Alistair in different parts of the world, including Spain, Lithuania, France and Malaysia. In the live performance, field recordings were played followed by improvisational responses. More info here.
